Further details about the family who resided at the property dubbed the 'Ohio House of Horrors' have surfaced.

As he was in custody, this meant that the county would be burdened by his medical bills - and officials claimed the costs of this had the potential to 'bankrupt' them.

Elizabeth was just 15 when she married her 18-year-old husband in Mason County, West Virginia, on 31 March, 2008.

Local residents and relatives of the Siders have been speaking out in recent days after police raided the dilapidated pad where 20 of them lived in Vinton County on 30 June.
Now, court records have shed some further light on the family dynamic that was at play - and what transpired after Elizabeth, 33, married into the brood when she was still a teenager.
The US has been left reeling by reports that have emerged since Elizabeth, her husband Gary Siders Jr., 36, and his parents Gary Siders Sr., 73, Christina Siders, 67, were arrested more than a week ago.
Officials described the scene as 'pure evil' and said the 16 kids found at the Ohio home have been living in 'unimaginable conditions' - while likening them to 'feral animals'.

Many of the children, whose ages ranged from around 18-months-old to 18-years-old, were unable to speak. The eldest could not write her own name, police said.
The children spent most of their time in a room that was roughly 12 feet by 12 feet (3.5 meters by 3.5 meters), according to investigators, who noted that human waste was all around.
Several of the youngsters were in need of medical attention and were taken to nearby hospitals. The Siders children are currently under the custody of authorities in Vinton County.
The four adult family members were each charged with felony child endangerment and are being held on $300,000 (£224,482) cash bonds - but Gary Sr has since been released.
The pensioner 'fell and had a medical issue that required treatment and assessment’, Vinton County Prosecutor William Archer said and doctors then discovered he has a 'serious medical condition'.
"We were not going to put that burden on our taxpayers and so it was agreed that we would do a recognizance bond so he could get the medical treatment that the doctors say he needs and won’t cost the county that money," Archer said. "If he's released from then, he will then be equipped with a GPS monitor."
This bond - which is also known as a Personal Recognizance/PR bond - allows an arrested person to leave jail without paying money. All four adults have pleaded not guilty to the charges they are facing.
The Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) are now reportedly seeking $1million in emergency funding to help support the rescued children through foster care placements and court proceedings.
Elizabeth 'isn't evil', her lawyer says
A firefighter who ferried some of the Siders' offspring to hospital has since spoken out about the 'haunting' things that he saw inside the family home.
Captain Jeremiah Griffith also described the demeanour of the children, saying they were 'quiet, scared and didn't speak'.
Focus has fallen on Elizabeth, who is said to be the mother of all 16 kids, in recent days.
Her lawyer Thomas Stolly has insisted that suggestions she is 'pure evil' are not true, as he explained he 'did not see any malice' in Elizabeth after their first meeting.
He said that her life with the Siders is 'all that she knows' as she has got married to Gary Jr at such a young age, adding: "If that’s been your worldview for the past 17 or 18 years, you get shaped by that."
Court documents offer some clarity in regards to how the relationship between the couple began nearly two decades ago.
According to WOWK 13 News, records state that her parents - Brian Ray Russell and Lori Ann Raines - and the judge - former Circuit Court Judge David Nibert - consented to the marriage.
Both of the teens were listed as living in Ohio's Gallia Country at the time. Their first child was reportedly born just two months later.
Tragically, reports have also emerged about the deaths of conjoined twin daughters who Elizabeth gave birth to back in November 2022.
Bailey Lee and Faith Lee Siders at Riverside Methodist Hospital were born in Columbus, Ohio, at just 24 weeks’ gestation.
Twin tragedy
It is understood that the tots had thoracopagus, a condition where their faces and chests fused together in the womb. The twins died later that same day of natural causes, records state.
Elizabeth's estranged brother-in-law Ronnie Fletcher has spoken out about how he was left 'horrified' after the foursome were arrested - as he had no idea about what was going on inside the Siders home.
He is married to one of Gary Sr and Christina's daughters, who he claims has been forced to stay off work as she is 'scared' of the potential backlash.
"We've had death threats," Ronnie said. "We've been told that we need to be put in front of an execution line of guns and, you know, killed and burned. I mean, it's been bad.
"My children, my daughters, have been threatened. It's to the point we've had our pictures taken off our accounts and we've had to delete all our social media.
"We can't live our normal lives, because the way these people are trying to treat us [over] something we didn't have nothing to do with."

3 July 2026
In an interview with WSYX ABC 6, Elizabeth Siders’ lawyer Thomas Stolly said on meeting his client for the first time: “I met a woman who was timid and who was exhausted. It looked like she had been crying quite a bit. She looked distraught.”
When asked if Elizabeth is also a victim in the case, he says: “I don’t think she would classify herself as a victim.”
He says the initial coverage of conditions at the Siders’ home is ‘not the whole story’.
7 July 2026
All four of the defendants waive their right to a preliminary hearing, meaning the case will now go before a grand jury.
They will decide whether to indict the four accused family members.
On the same day, Gary Sr.’s legal team ask for his $300,000 bail to be waived. They argue it is excessive, saying the 73-year-old has ‘significant health issues’ and ‘very limited mobility’, and doesn’t have the capacity to post any bail money.
His lawyer, Dorian Keith Baum, says Gary Sr. ‘has denied any and all allegations against him’ and has ‘a vested interest… to clear his name’.
Baum also says he has concerns about Gary Sr’s competency to stand trial.
That day, Gary Sr. is transported to OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. If released from hospital, he will be required to wear a GPS monitor.
His bond is changed to a recognizance bond, which means he doesn’t have to pay the money upfront.
